Hotel Victoria Regia

I was all excited about being here. We still had a few days left on our trip before we headed home. The hotel was nice but I didn't like the area it was in. Anyway I got up in the morning because the bus was coming to get us and when I opened the closet to get my stuff everything was soaking wet. The air conditioner line had broken and all my clothes were soaking wet. There was no time to do anything because the bus was outside. I went to the front desk and asked the guy to come and look in my room. He didn't come up so I went back down again and then he called a maintenance guy to look. As soon as the maintenance saw it he called the manager right away. The manager came in a flash and when he saw my stuff he wanted to wash all my clothes but I was leaving right then. He apologized profusely but it was to late. I ended up flying home in shorts and a jacket, no shirt. I was so embarrassed.

I loved this hotel. They are adding a meeting room on the first floor, other than that, everything else worked perfectly. The rooms were very clean, staff were great, breakfast was great. check in was very quick and easy. The hotel is conveniently located in the city center. Too bad we did not have time to try the restaurant food other than breakfast.

We vacation at the Victoria Regia for 2 weeks in late June to early July. Everything from the moment we arrive to where we left our stay was a very pleasurable experience. The Family Room was clean (and clean every morning), and it features all the basic necessities such as 2 flat screen TVS, a good working AC, comfy beds, ample room in the bathroom and refrigerator. The complimentary breakfast was great and the lunch and dinner at either restaurant was even better. Prizes were good and food quality and selection was high. The outdoor pool and deck are was great for a relaxing afternoon (after being out and about all day). The pool was clean and never too crowded. Their hotel staff couldn't have been any better and more attentive. Being the first time in Iquitos, their staff listen and answer all my questions and always got the help that I needed. Check in and check out process was easy and the shuttle service to the airport was a plus. Staff were always friendly and attentive. I'm definitely recommending this hotel and can't wait to plan for next stay at Victoria Regia in Iquitos, Peru.
